Firedrop Rescue Team Chapter 1

A young female Vaporeon, aged 7 years, stared at the moon in the sky whilst staying still with her head and tail above the sea surface.

The Vaporeon felt heart broken, sad on the inside and out. It was clear that something went wrong for her.
She wanted adventure on the island that could be seen in the dark horizon, but she felt that she was too young to go alone, for she was stuck at the bay of a different island.
She had no friends and no family by her side. She was completely alone.
'If only...' she said, as a tear fell from her face. But when the tear was absorbed by the sea surface, something....bigger....hit the water at the same time.

A big splash occured just behind the Vaporeon. It gave her more than just a fright, as something had landed on the fins of her tail.
She didn't want to look behind her, but she felt that she needed to. And lying on her tail....was a younger, male Charmander.
Unfortunatly, he seemed like a monster to the Vaporeon at first, so she shrieked, moved her body panicingly and made the uncontious Charmander fall off into the water.
'Oh, no...' the Vaporeon said, worryingly, 'Even though I don't like fire-types, I'd never want such a small Charmander to drown! I feel so sorry for his tail...!'.
She was kind-hearted and had experianced enough extreme events in one day already, so she dived into the sea for him after saying 'I've got to at least save his body!'.

It wasn't hard to spot the sinking dead Charmander underwater..............or WAS he dead? His tail was still lit with flame!
This suprised the Vaporeon. She always thought that Charmanders' tails were delicate, especially for a situation like this. But even if the tail was still lit, he was still drowning.
The Vaporeon then looked at the Charmander's face. He didn't look that fierce. In fact, he didn't seem fierce to her at all. At that moment, the Vaporeon saw something....special about him.
She smiled. She HAD to save him. The Vaporeon swam downwards fast to the still sinking Charmander. She managed to reach him, grabbed him by the waists and lifted him to her chest.
'Mmmmm...' she hummed whilst she began swimming upwards carrying the Charmander in her arms, 'You feel very comfy and warm to hug. I just hope you're still alive.'.
She glanced at the Charmander's tail. It was still lit.

Both Pokemon's heads sprung out of the water. The Vaporeon swam to the nearest shore and laid the now-breathing Charmander on the sand.
She laid on top of him, stroking his head, waiting for him to gain contiousnes.
'Sigh....you're too cute to drown. I wonder why you fell off that cliff that was behind me at the time?' She said.
She felt happier when the Charmander started breathing twice as fast. He opened his eyes slightly.
When he opened his mouth saying 'Chh...aarrrrrr...', the Vaporeon saw two big, sharp, yet not-so-threatening teeth on both sides of his mouth.
'Chaarmaaand......ER?' he said as he widened his eyes when he saw the Vaporeon towering over him.

The Vaporeon smiled at him, but the Charmander kept his face in an unsure state.
Suddenly, the Vaporeon brought her head right up to his and said 'Yes! You're alive! I was beginning to worry about you! Just as long as you're-'.
'CHAAAR!!' the Charmander shouted as he interupted her, pushed her face away and tried to cover his closed eyes with his small hands.
'...Not afraid of my appearance.' the Vaporeon finished saying. The Charmander whimpered as a few tears fell from his closed eyes.
'Hmm....maybe I shouldn't have done that.,' said the Vaporeon, looking down at him with guilt. She then decided to go for a softer approach that she learned from her mother.

She moved the Charmander's hands away with her paws. He tried to get away from the Vaporeon, whose head was moving closer to his again.
She could feel his heart pounding fast with her chest, but she knew what she had to do, this time.
'Ssshhhhhhhh....' she said to the Charmander, looking into his worried eyes, 'I'm not going to hurt you. Just stay calm...'. And then, she licked the Charmander's face from his nose to his fore-head.
Licking was a pure sign of comfort. The Vaporeon moved her head back and looked at the Charmander; he started to smile slightly and his heart-beats slowed down.
'Are you feeling better, Charmander?' she asked. There was a five second silence, then the Charmander wiped his remaining tears away from his face and then reached for the Vaporeon's face.
He touched her cheek and moved his hand slowly around it. Her skin felt soft and smooth, it made the Charmander's smile bigger.
He found out in his own way that the Vaporeon was friendly and concerned for him. He then moved his hands to her neck, sat up straight and hugged the Vaporeon saying 'Charmander!' cheerfully.
'You're welcome!' said the Vaporeon as if the Charmander said thank you. She placed her paw on his back and pulled him in, locking the hug.

A while later, they stopped hugging and Vaporeon introduced herself properly saying 'My name is SAPHIRE. And as you can tell, I'm a Vaporeon!'.
'What about you? What's your name, little Charmander?' she asked. But the Charmander said nothing. He looked downwards in shame.
'What's wrong? ...Can't you talk?' asked Saphire.
The Charmander replied by shaking his head sighing 'Chaaarrr...'. 'Oh yeah....I should have had it figured. You don't seem to speak in PROPER Pokemon language, do you?' asked Saphire.
The Charmander replied by shaking his head again. 'But, you can still understand me?' asked Saphire. This time, the Charmander replied by nodding his head saying 'Char, char!'.

'Good! At least we have that.' she said, 'Now, I wonder where your mun and dad is...?'. Suddenly, the Charmander backed a bit and became scared of what she just said.
'Huh? What is it, now?' asked Saphire curiously. The Charmander responded by shaking his head fast and moved his hands as if he didn't want something.
'You don't want to go back to your parents?' said Saphire, 'Hmmm....did you, perhaps, do something bad?'. This time, the Charmander looked as if didn't know how he should respond.
'Or....did THEY do something bad?' asked Saphire. The Charmander nodded his head slowly saying 'Chaaarrr...'. Saphire was still a bit puzzled, though.
Saphire then yawned and looked at the island in the horizon. She then looked at the Charmander again.
'You know what?' she said, 'I don't feel like finding your parents either-way, for now. So....would you like to sleep with ME, for the night?'.
The Charmander gave a big grin at the sound of what she said, so he nodded and said 'Charmander, char!'. 'Yeah....because I was feeling lonely before you fell...' explained Saphire.

'Anyway, how about you snuggle with my tail to keep you comfortable and warm?' she asked, as she moved her mermaid tail so that Charmander could see it.
When the Charmander looked at Saphire's tail though, his face looked as if he had been hypnotised. '...Charmander...?' asked Vaporeon, wondering why he just stood there.
After a few seconds, the Charmander slowly walked to her tail and reached for it. He felt around the fins, smilling.
Seeing how much the Charmander was attracted to her tail, she responded by making one of her fins wrap around the Charmander's body, and the other fin tickle his neck and belly!
The Charmander laughed uncontrolably, but he liked this moment. 'Ha ha ha! I guess I wasn't kidding when I said you were cute!' said Saphire, smilling.
'You're a charmy little lizard, aren't you? Uh, oh, I meant charming.' added Saphire, 'Hold on....charmy...?'. She had a thought and stopped tickling the Charmander, but kept him wrapped.
'Yes....yes! I'll call you: CHARMY.' confirmed Saphire. 'Char...' agreed Charmy, liking the sound of his new name. 'Well, you look adorable and a bit shy, so it makes sense!' she explained.

'Okay Charmy, keep still.' said Saphire. She wrapped her other fin around Charmy and coiled her tail around him, settling him next to her back right-leg. He felt cosy.
The middle of her tail acted like a pillow for Charmy's head, who now looked more sleepy. Saphire moved her head closer to Charmy's. 'I'll see you tomorrow morning, okay?' she said.
Charmy nodded his head and yawned 'Chhhhaaaaaarrrrrrr.......'. Saphire licked him on the face once more and whispered 'Good-night, Charmy.'. Charmy fell asleep easily.
Saphire then moved her head back and rested it on her front legs. She began to drift away. The two Pokemon slept with each-other at the shore as the night peacefully continued...
